Former student to work with Justin Welby

Anthony Poggo, who is currently the Bishop of the Diocese of Kajo-Keji has been appointed by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, to the role of adviser on Anglican Communion Affairs.

Windle Trust International is delighted to report that one of our former students, Anthony Poggo, who is currently the Bishop of the Diocese of Kajo-Keji has been appointed by Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, to the role of adviser on Anglican Communion Affairs.

Anthony Poggo has a long history in community and church development. As a Windle scholar, he completed an MBA at Oxford Brookes University in 2001 before returning to South Sudan where he joined ACROSS, one of South Sudan’s oldest and most respected ngo’s, eventually becoming its Executive Director.

A few years later, Anthony Poggo was elected Bishop of the Diocese of Kajo-Keji and in various roles has played a visible and constructive role in seeking to promote peace and reconciliation in South Sudan. As he moves to the UK to join colleagues in Lambeth Palace, we are delighted to see one of our former students bringing their knowledge, expertise and personal commitment to a global stage. Congratulations!
