Trusts & Foundations

We have a long history of working with trusts & foundations to help you achieve your goals.

We work with trusts and foundations that support international education projects and are committed to improving the lives of others.

Whether for short-term projects or long term partnerships, we believe in creating collaborations that bring results greater than the sum of their parts.

If you’re a trust or foundation looking to make a lasting educational impact, we’d love to hear from you to discuss your strategic priorities, vision, and mission. Email info@windle.org.uk and we’ll be in touch to see how.

New partnership:
All Saints Educational Trust

All Saints Educational Trust (ASET) aim to make lasting improvements to the welfare and future prospects of individuals both in the UK and overseas.

They promote improvements to teaching quality and focus particularly on Religious Education and Home Economics. To do this, they commit to supporting teacher education and professional development in the fields of Religious Education, Home Economics, food and nutrition education, and Public Health Promotion.

Windle Trust Internatonal and ASET started working together in 2021 and launched a brand new Teacher Training Scholarship Programme for South Sudan. This project provides 22 female teachers with training to enhance their teaching capacity and improve educational quality for students in South Sudan.

This collaboration will expand throughout 2022 and 2023 with a further project to provide food and nutrition focused postgraduate level scholarships for students from Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia. Building on the strengths of both organisations, ASET and WTI have been able to impact the lives of others in a way that neither organisation could achieve alone.

Long-term partnership:
Gordon College Memorial Trust Fund

Like Windle Trust International, Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund (GMCTF) work to promote education for the people of Sudan and South Sudan.

Their practice is to give small grants to individuals and organisations to help to improve access to higher education in Sudan and South Sudan, and to individuals undertaking postgraduate study who intend to return to work in either country.

As one of our longest partnerships, GMCTF have been working with us for more than 25 years, each year providing a grant to support the provision of secure hostel accommodation for approximately 80 students at Ahfad University for Women. Many of these women have no family support in Khartoum and would otherwise have to live in settlements without electricity or running water. They would have to travel for up to two hours each day to reach their university. The collaboration between GMCTF and WTI means that they can live in dedicated student hostels with provisions for safety, welfare and academic study. Together, we have been able to support over a thousand women and work towards the Gordon Memorial College Trust Fund’s mission of improving access to higher education for those who would otherwise be denied.
