Violence in Sudan: Staff welfare update

With military violence breaking out across Sudan this week, particularly in Khartoum, we have received a number of concerned enquiries about the welfare of our staff and our team in the country. We greatly appreciate these concerns.

As it stands, we are able to report that all of our staff are as of now safe, as well as the students we support. Work in Blue Nile State is continuing, whilst our head office in central Khartoum is currently inaccessible. Several staff members have left Khartoum with more considering doing so in the coming days. The safety of our staff, their families, and our students is paramount and is the key criterion in any decision making.

For updates on the general situation in Sudan, the BBC maintains a regularly updated feed.

For any WTI Sudan specific enquiries, please email the team in the UK.

As this difficult situation continues, we continue to hope for the safety and wellbeing of all of our friends, colleagues, partners, and beneficiaries in the region.
